Fatal Fury City of the Wolves is the highly anticipated sequel to the Fatal Fury series, following the last Mark of the Wolves which was released in 1999 in arcades and later on the Sega Dreamcast. The games are developed by SNK’s KOF Studio, the same roro4d online team responsible for the King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown series.
The games feature a unique blend of strategy and tactics, setting them apart from Street Fighter and Tekken. The fighter cast is diverse, fun, and easy for beginners to master, yet has a depth that makes it challenging and satisfying for true fighting game fans.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Release Date
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will officially be released on April 24, 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. However, if you pre-order the game, you can play the game three days early, starting April 21, 2025.
It’s commendable that SNK isn’t charging extra for early access, and even includes the first Season Pass for free with the base game. Plus, you’ll also get a Fatal Fury 2 DLC costume for Terry Bogard, one of the iconic characters who also appears regularly in the King of Fighters series.
The base version of the game is effectively a Special Edition, as it includes the first Season Pass. On launch day, players will immediately get 17 fighters, including guest character Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, for those of you who buy the physical version, please note that you will not get three days of early access like the digital version. However, fans of the collector’s edition can consider the Deluxe Edition.
