The Genshin Impact 5.6 release date is fast approaching, bringing a host of new characters, events, and bosses to explore.
While mid-cycle Genshin Impact updates tend to be a bit of a drag, the latest live stream shows that there’s plenty to look forward to in the 5.6 update. In addition to a new island being added to the map, we also got a sneak peek at two new Genshin Impact characters joining the free-to-play PC game’s roster.
When is Genshin Impact 5.6 Coming?
Genshin Impact 5.6 will be released on May 6, 2025 for players in UTC-4 and earlier time zones, or May 7, 2025 for Travelers in UTC-3 and later time zones.
The first phase of the release will feature a new character named Escoffier, as well as a 4-star unit named Ifa. Alongside Escoffier, there will also be a rerun banner for Navia in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 5.6 Maintenance End Time
As usual in game updates from HoYoverse, the Genshin 5.6 update will last for five hours. Every hour of downtime will be compensated with 60 Primogems (minimum total 300 Primogems).

New Islands and Bosses in Genshin Impact 5.6
There will be a roroslot new island added to the map, which some fans say looks similar to the Petrichor region located south of Fontaine.
The island will likely feature a new world boss called Secret Source Automation: Overseer Device, in addition to a new weekly boss that will spawn in Mondstadt. The Overseer Device deals Cryo damage and is weak to the Nightsoul’s Blessing ability, so you’ll want to build your team around Natlan characters.
